Building Chicago Economics: New Perspectives on the History of America's Most Powerful Economics Program (Historical Perspectives on Modern Economics) ReviewHaving a Chicago PhD in Economics 1969, I know many of the people discussed in this excellent book. It is well documented and captures the flavor of the Chicago Economics PhD program during the 1964-1969 period when I was a student there. A number of key figures such as Mundell and others are not discussed, however. If there is an weakness of this otherwise outstanding book, it is that there is too much on Friedman, Stigler, Knight etc, and too little on the other major figures that were at Chicago during these important years.
