It is well documented and captures the flavor of the Chicago Economics PhD program during the 1964-1969 period when I was a student there. A number of key figures such as Mundell and others are not discussed, however. If there is an weakness of this otherwise outstanding book, it is that there is too much on Friedman, Stigler, Knight etc, and too little on the other major figures that were at Chicago during these important years.
