Early Royko: Up Against It in Chicago ReviewI believe this is a straight reprint (with Rick Kogan's new intro) of the original "Up Against It," Dad's first collection, from 1967. There was one more in the 1960s, "I May Be Wrong, But I Doubt It," which I'd like to see U of C Press reissue as well. Four later collections, from the 1970s-1980s (Slats Grobnik and Some Other Friends, Sez Who? Sez Me, Like I Was Sayin', Dr. Kookie, You're Right), are all easy to find cheaply, as are the two posthumous collections (One More Time, For the Love of Mike). Now that "Up Against It" has been reprinted, that only leaves "I May Be Wrong, But I Doubt It" as a hard-to-find collector's item.
