Chicago, World War II (IL) (Images of America) ReviewThis wonderful little book is part of the Images of America series, and focuses on Chicago, Illinois during and immediately after World War II. It is chock full of images covering everything from women ordinance workers through Baby Boomers and the rise of Richard J. Daley. The pictures are organized into first Wartime Chicago and then Post-War Chicago, and within those broad categories are further organized by subject.
This is a neat little book! The pictures are all crystal clear, and have well-written captions. My family lived in Chicago during WW2, and when my father marched off the rest of the family continued on. Well, with this book I could actually look in at their world, and see what it was like. I really enjoyed this book, and don't hesitate to recommend it to everyone who is interested in the history of the common people.Chicago, World War II (IL) (Images of America) Overview
