The author did a great job of compiling many sources of data and explained the discrepancies and difficulties of comparing the different data sources. Like many scholarly books with extensive detail, it is not fast reading because it is written like a journal article. However, it is excellently sourced. The statistical analysis is not fast reading, but if the reader is willing to knock the dust off the stats textbooks, the quantitative data analysis is greatly appreciated.
