Identity: Lost ReviewI received my copy of Identity Lost in the morning and by evening had torn through the novel without stopping for lunch or dinner, or leaving the house.
This book engaged me on so many levels. If you lived in Chicago, or any large urban setting, in the mid-70s, you will understand that the language describing racial tensions which seems so painfully graphic and uncomfortable now was just "life" back then. The refreshing honesty in this novel is it's greatest strength. These are certainly just people, living their everyday lives. But the character development is strong and I now feel that I know them and share their story. I think it's a mark of substance, when a great story begs for more - as this one does. Whether it be in a movie or a second story, it doesn't matter. They have come to life for me. The idea that an individual who follows the inner compass pointing toward "right" and away from "wrong" can find life spiral out of their control does not ever seem just - and something we always want to work out. And how sad that life takes these twists at all. And what a great story!Identity: Lost Overview
